Camaro SS – SABRA Super Car

The Camaro SS pictured above is a very hard to find 1:43 scale die cast model. It was manufactured in Israel circa 1968-69.

This SABRA Super Car #8120 is packaged in its exclusive stackable pocket garage of clear plastic. One end has a red ‘garage door’ that flips up. Another feature of the packaging was the colorful back card. Not only was the backside printed so that the car and package could be mailed in the post, but also came with a cut out puzzle for added fun.

This ‘exact-scale’ die cast car has the following features:

“Garage dimensions” – 5″ x 2″ x 1-1/2″

Super-flex tires

Blue in color

Red interior

Contour seats

Safety windshield

Chrome front & rear bumpers

Spring suspension wheels

Doors that open & close

Silver chassis

SS emblem on grill

Made in Gamda Koor Israel

This Camaro SS by SABRA is the first car of this type that I’ve seen and as such, there is limited information available. In fact, none of my toy reference books cover this manufacturer.
