Hot Wheels 1978 Collector Belt Buckle

In 1978 Mattel issued a 10th Anniversary “ 3- car- pack” with basic wheels.  Enclosed at the top section of this anniversary package was a ‘collector’ belt buckle. This HOT WHEELS belt buckle has the Hot Wheels logo, the Mattel logo – and on the bottom right-hand side of the buckle is the word ‘COLLECTOR’.  The year of production – 1978 – is embossed on the back of the buckle.

The belt buckle is number 2385-6019.  Doesn’t seem to be many of these out there – however, if you are fortunate enough to find this belt buckle you would be finding a prize. In today’s market price it is valued at $80 to $100.

  1. I do happen to have that belt buckle and I was curious where I can sell that and some of my other Matchbox/Hotwheels cars from that era, and get a good price.

  2. Don,

In my opinion, I would contact a local Hot Wheel or Match Box Collector Club. They are the most active in buying individual items such as yours.

    Good Luck!
